In the recent past there have been very many heated discussions on the utility of the current Rating system. This made us look into the Rating stats and this is what we discovered :
A staggering 91% of the votes are 5 stars. Close to 7% of the votes are 1 star. Which makes the rest almost negligible.
So what does this indicate? A majority of the users are prompted to rate a song when they are either ‘Wow’ed by it or when they don’t like it at all. A bad song for most part prompts indifference. Thus the current Rating system does not serve anything nobler than letting listeners convey if they like a song or not.
Hence, we are retiring the ‘Rating’ feature in the To-be-released Muziboo version and replacing it with the ‘Like / Thumbs Up’ feature similar to the one in Facebook. The point to note is that there would be no ‘Thumbs Down’ considering the imbalance we see in the 91-7 split. We believe, this system will be more effective in declaring ones love for a song.
In the new version, all votes with ratings 4 and above will be converted to ‘Likes’ and displayed in the song page.

Muzibians!!! Another sweet mile-stone in our exciting quest to bring musicians and music criti’cians together. Muziboo reaches 1 Million page views per month on site – that is, people see that many pages from Muziboo every month (as distinguished from our 2 Million widget views off site). And to give a comparative understanding, as of the same time last year, we had 175K page views per month on site. Hurrraaaaayyyyy!!!! Our Muzibian caravan keeps getting longer
