Muziboo recently crossed 2 Million widget views per month. Yippee!!
These widgets are Muziboo players embedded on other networks (not within Muziboo). Muziboo as a platform, not only encourages interaction within the community but also provides easy tools for musicians to spread their music in various other networks. In an attempt to understand which network is the most popular among musicians, I went through the break-up of widget installation by destination(network) and here you go! FB is the clear winner with Blogger and Orkut sharing a distant 2nd.
Is Myspace far behind with a mere 7.3% because it already supports music? Is the graph above a decent answer for all those who indulge in Orkut vs FB debates?
We are still recovering from the absolute nice time we had in the Bangalore Muziboo meet last sunday! Thank you so much for your generosity and hospitality Priya and Venkat! But for your initiative we could not have experienced the incredible evening.
The evening made us all understand that we were part of something special and were grateful to be part of it. The Muziboo night was loads of fun and the community feeling was at the forefront. Thank you all for being there – we hope that those of you who were able to attend had a great time – we could not have done this without you!
For music from the evening click here . Stay tuned for more – It will be posted over time. A special thanks to Anirudh for composing the Muziboo anthem and getting everyone one of us to sing along!
We are often asked : “Why do you charge?”. We love this question because it is an indication that you love us enough to give us at-least the chance to offer an explanation. The following explanation is not just for people who ask this question but also for the ones that have trusted us enough to pay. It is an attempt at making you feel comfortable about paying/ having already paid for something that you want and love.
There would be No Muziboo if we didn’t charge!
Unless you have been directly involved in running a web startup, it is difficult to understand the cost, effort and resources that go into running Muziboo. So to give you an idea, the cost involved is not only that of storage, bandwidth and back-up but also the full-time effort of two people that goes into developing, maintaining, releasing features & offering support. Every effort in technology & community building is geared towards bettering music and people discovery – What else explains songs that constantly surface up only to have more listeners and comments in-spite of it being uploaded a year back!
Had we (Prateek and myself) held on to our comfortable corporate jobs to fund Muziboo, you would not have the ‘Muziboo’ that you have today – A Muziboo that you love, a Muziboo that you spend hours on, a Muziboo that appreciates your talent. We quit our jobs and devoted our full-time time to Muziboo because we believe in making a difference in the way you share your music with the world.
Charging only helps us help you.
We offer reliable Customer Support
How many services that you use in your every-day life that promises customer support actually delivers on it even-though you invariably pay for all of them.
In Muziboo, you have two intelligent life forms to answer all your queries and offer support. The money you pay is not thrown into a black-hole only to show up as automated replies for all your emails. We go through every contact email personally because we appreciate your needs and respect your time.
Free Sites often shut shop
There have been several instances of free sites shutting shop. Some examples : Sonific , saffronconnect etc., Even the ones backed by biggies have closed down.
You are only helping us run a healthy business by paying! You don’t have to ever fear losing the anniversary & birthday songs that you uploaded for your special ones or the comments & wishes that poured in from everywhere to appreciate that effort. It is better to bet your music and emotion on a reliable service that charges than lose all your connections and content to a clueless enterprise that shuts down in a few years.
While we stand by our service, you can count on every penny of yours put into Muziboo being worthy.
I would also like you to know what a few of our paid customers say about their penny being put to good use.
– Never ever had a bad experience on Muziboo. In fact, I made a lot of good friends who genuinely give constructive feedback.
Muziboo Pro Account Saves Money!
– The feedback and appreciation I get from Muziboo inspires me to spend a couple of hours everyday listening, singing and giving feedback.
– If there was no Muziboo, I would have gone shopping (atleast $50 per visit) or to a restaurant (atleast $25 per visit)
– Imagine how much money I have saved by an annual Pro Account !!!
“I for one spend at least 2 hrs on muziboo everyday and it has definitely improved my quality of life. So for 730 hrs a yr of fun, for all the wonderful friends I have made on muziboo and for all the opportunities it has brought me, I dont think a pro account is much. Heck we would waste that on two movies normally and half the time those suck!”
On a lighter note, I would like to share with you, a short video on how vendor-client relationships work in the real world. Though Muziboo is a virtual music hang-out, the effort and cost involved in running it is real !”
