Mamma Hold Me!! – A Song For Love and Peace

January 13th, 2009 § 2

This is one of the best songs on Muziboo for the beauty of its lyrics, for what it strives to achieve and the irony of a juvenile victim through whose eyes it is seen. The video too is a series of real life incidents that rightly captures the spirit of the song. The song is dedicated to the people of the world for love and peace.

Thanks Sunny and Piyush !

“So many people have lost their lives to terrorism and natural calamities. Innocent little souls, dedicated housewives and mothers, and sincere  fathers and husbands… no one was spared! So here is a song dedicated to all those innocent lives. One such kid knows that he is going to die and there is not much he can do about it. He prefers himself to be called as Mamma’s child because somewhere down the line his own existence is dominated by the love his mother has showered on him and he didn’t care about anything more than her Mom’s attention and love. He falls cold even before he could embrace his mother for one last time.”

Song composed, arranged and rendered by Sunny, Lyrics by Piyush Singh. The audio can be downloaded from the song page on Muziboo

*The promises I
failed to keep.
Now only my eyes,
see me weep.
Tears getting lost,
in the smoke somewhere.
Black burning bodies,
falling here and there.
Mamma hold me,
Please hold me
Mamma hold me,
Please hold me,
Mamma hold me,
Hold me in your arms

I know that I am going to die.
With wasted soul
and never opening eye,
I know that I am going to die.
With wasted soul
and never opening eye,
The pain is like an angels call
I see the smoke,
engulfing everyone’s life.
Mamma hold me,
Please hold me
Mamma hold me,
Please hold me,
Mamma hold me,
Hold me in your arms

Please ask ‘daddy’,
to be brave.
Put ‘mamma’s child’,
on my grave.
Please ask ‘daddy’,
to be brave.
Put ‘mamma’s child’,
on my grave.
Look for me in, every child you see.
Kiss their foreheads and,
you can feel me.
Mamma hold me,
Mamma hold me,
Mamma hold me,
Mamma hold me in your arms,
Mamma hold me in your arms,
Mamma hold me in your arms,
Mamma hold me in your arms.*

How would it feel to upload a cover of a song and the play-back singer of the original song himself takes out time to appreciate you by leaving a comment. One of the users by name Joseph Thomas had recently uploaded the song May masame from the movie ‘My Mothers laptop’ sung by Amal Antony, a known paly-back singer from Kerala and one of the comments was this . What can be a better appreciation than that. Listen to the original uploaded by Antony here and the cover by clicking the player below.
