Funny characters in playlist gone

February 24th, 2008 § 0

Most of you (ok .. all of you) would have seen the funny + % and other characters in your playlist. Akshay pointed it out in the new design help center and finally I had enough motivation to fix it. Those characters are gone now and your playlist should be clean and shiny

Also we will be soon adding multiple playlist support to muziboo .. so you can add more playlists .. like rock, classical .. whatever you want

Have Fun

Muziboo is moving to a new home

February 22nd, 2008 § 2

Hi

If you have reached here looking for Muziboo .. don’t worry .. Muziboo is just shifting homes and will be back soon …

Ok enough cool language .. we are moving to a new server .. so that all of us can enjoy the same speed and streaming quality despite the growth in traffic (which is cool to have)

The move should take no more than 30 mins .. so we should be back by about 8:30 PM (Pacific Standard Time)

Happy Waiting

Google Loves Muziboo

February 18th, 2008 § 1

Today I was checking logs for muziboo and I found a visit for the keyword “upload music” … I checked and found out that this was not a paid visit. I checked on google and found that Muziboo is result 47 of 19,200,000. This is pretty neat as upload music is a very competitive keyword and a few months back, we were not even in the top 200 results.

Sachin Bansal from flipkart later pointed out to me that Muziboo ranks number one in Google India results (pages for India) out of 98,900 results beating quite a few popular websites ….

Thanks Google …. we love you too!

Caffeine Coated Valentine

February 15th, 2008 § 1

Well Valentine’s day came and went but left lot of sweet memories for us and a lot of Muziboo users. Particularly for Vikram and Shourya who with their band members gave a great musical evening to all those present in Brew ha ha

DJ Deepak covered parts of the event on video and here it is for you (thanks to him)

We met a lot of other Muzibians too: Ishwary, Jijin, Vasu and others. Thank you guys for coming over … hope to see you again

Muziboo presents its first gig!

February 12th, 2008 § 4

It was definitely a great moment for us when it was finalised that Muziboo would arrange for a gig with its bands in Brew Haha cafe on the 14th of Feb, in the context of Valentine’s day. ‘Grubby Halo’ Vikram JS and ‘Unkown River’ Shourya Sarcar came forward immediately to participate. It is the first of the kind for Muziboo and we definitely plan to have more of such gigs, jam-ups and workshops in the future. As we are stationed in Bangalore, this has kicked off from this place. We would be more than willing to help in arranging or co-ordinating such events for outsiders too. Do drop in at Brewhaha, if you are in Bangalore and all your thoughts and inputs on such offline meet-ups will be appreciated!  P.S :Venue and other detailsBrew Haha cafeNear JNC,Koramangala,Bangalore. Date & Time : 14th Feb ‘08, 7 – 8.30 pm.

United We Stand!

February 8th, 2008 § 1

Terrorism, War, Drugs, Aids, Cancer, Global warming, Poverty????? whatever it is, that bothers you, bothers humanity, United We Stand to fight against all of it. Well, thats the crux of Sunny’s project. A musical project started in a humble way to involve the Muzibians to start off with and involve the world itself in an ambitious sorta way. He has put up a basic creation for people to work on and coolly enough, the project is already in progress!! Do participate in whatever small (or big) way you can, the creation would ofcourse be beautiful for the noble cause behind it :) . If not anything, try to post some lyrics in your language, with the content aligning with the cause mentioned, and translate for the audience…

Check out the song (rather the song idea)

To download the tracks (minus track, vox only and mixed), please check this thread. Lets pass the baton of music in our race against the evils of the society!!

Sidebar gone! (well almost)

February 8th, 2008 § 0

We have been talking to a lot of people lately and seeing our logs and analytics and what we found out was that the sidebar that you see after logging in was not being used that much .. and

a. it was taking up a lot of space
b. It was a little confusing …
c. The layout would change everytime you login and logout

So we have retired the sidebar and you will see it only when you go to my home tab (and yes .. the home is now known as the my home .. as its not just any home .. its your home)

To reach your scribbles etc quickly, we have a link to your scribbles on the top bar (neat logout etc) …

Do let us know what you guys think!

Pretty in Pinque?????????

February 6th, 2008 § 0

Pink is barbie, pink is girlie, pink is shocking, pink is jarring!!!!…lotsa back n forth feedbacks on the  pink fonts  in the website,  to the point that we are considering bringing the peppy green back! Well,  lets see if it fits in the whole scheme of blue. Logo is  another thing yet to be finalised on. We should be able to settle it all by next week. Your thoughts welcome too :)

Bands Page at Muziboo.com

February 6th, 2008 § 0

I have to admit .. Band’s page at Muziboo are a neat idea but there are lots of flaws with them. Biggest of which is the basic assumption that one user can be part of only. Turns out that is not true .. lots of users are part of more than one band .. their college band and ex school band for example ..

Another problem with the bands page is the (or was) invitation flow. Once you create a band, you were taken to a screen where you could invite your band members to join the band (muziboo users or non-muziboo users). The problem was that many people invited their fans/people whom they would want to check out the band using this page. Now if you put the problem one and two together .. its a big disaster … lots of muziboo members who had bands, were invited (to preview) bands by their friends .. but they ended up joining that band and getting kicked out of their band … now that sucks … and we know that :)

Good news is .. this weekend bands are getting a total lift .. you will see a better much more interactive page .. it will be easier to add music to your band .. and lots of other cool stuff .. if you have any more suggestions, please let me know so that I can try to add those to the feature set …

So long then!
